Tutor Code of Conduct

  1. All Tutors will value and respect each student and promote a positive learning environment, to build self confidence and resilience and will celebrate each student’s academic successes.

  2. BeeBizzy Tutors will ensure that the students are actively involved in their learning, by regularly setting targets and reviewing the progress that they have made.This will be communicated with both the parent/guardians and the student.

  3. In line with GDPR legislation, tutors will maintain confidentiality and ensure only limited data is held about the students. Students will be informed in matters concerning themselves and their progress.

  4. Tutors are expected to dress in an appropriate manner for their role.

  5. Tutors with show respect towards the student and their family, by valuing their cultural and religious beliefs; opposing any form of discrimination, radicalisation or exploitation.

  6. Tutors are not permitted to transport students in their car. In case of an emergency call 999.

  7. Tutors should not have physical contact with the student as advised by the Government guidance

  8. Tutors will ensure that at all times, their conversation with the student remains professional.  Under no circumstances, should negative comments be made to demean, belittle or cause offence to the students.

  9. Tutors are not permitted to make direct communication with the students, unless prior consent is given by the parent or guardian.  All communication should be between the tutor and the parent/guardian via telephone, text or email.  In the unlikely situation, when a tutor makes direct contact with a student, an electronic record will be kept for safeguarding purposes.

  10. No communication is permitted between a tutor and a student using any form of social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc)

  11. Any form of disclosure from a student will always be dealt with the uppermost importance. All safeguarding disclosures will be shared with the DSL and appropriate action will be taken. Information will be shared with the Local Authority Safeguarding Team and if deemed necessary, the Police.
