Safeguarding Policy
1. BeeBizzy Education respects the right that all children and young people have the right to grow up in a safe and caring environment, including the right to protection from all types of abuse. As educational professionals, BeeBizzy Education considers that this is our duty of care and as a result we will do everything possible to foster these rights by adhering to the safeguarding policies and guidance set out by the government, in order to ensure students safety and wellbeing.
2. BeeBizzy Education (known as BE in the remainder of this policy) aims to create
“A mutually respectful relationship between the tutor and the student, in which the students feel safe and protected, where their achievements are valued and celebrated”. BE will refer to any child or young person under the age of 18 (or up to the age of 25 if they have learning difficulties) to be covered within this safeguarding policy.
3. BeeBizzy Education considers everyone to have a responsibility to keep children and young people safe and as a result, all tutors will have up to date safeguarding training and will be familiar with the government guidance https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/892394/Keeping_children_safe_in_education_2020.pdf
4. All BE tutors have a responsibility to safeguard children whatever their age, culture, disability, gender, language, racial origin, religious belief and/or sexual identity, have the right to protection from abuse. All concerns and allegations of inappropriate behaviour will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately.
5. BE will rigorously adhere to their safeguarding and child protection procedures and the Guidance on Conduct and Behaviour for all who work on behalf of the organisation.
All concerns and allegations will be reported promptly to the appropriate authorities;
Comprehensive procedures for recruitment and selection of staff, tutors and volunteers are followed.
Provide effective management for staff, tutors and volunteers through support and training.
Protecting children from the risk of radicalisation should be seen as part of wider safeguarding duties. BE staff will be vigilant about any changes in children’s behaviour, which could indicate that they may be in need of help or protection.
6. If a safeguarding concern is raised, this should be directed immediately to Anna Waters by email to anna@beebizzy.co.uk and this should be done within 24 hours of the concern being identified. The safeguarding protocol as detailed below will be followed:
Tuition will be suspended if a safeguarding is identified which is in breach of this policy
The Local Authority will be informed and if necessary the police will be informed.
The tutor must complete the Safeguarding Referral Form and return the form to the DSL.
7. All information will remain strictly confidential and records will be kept to evidence how the complaint was dealt with and what action was taken.
